Default Door Trim

Anyone know the proper way to pull this off? It's held on with 3 clips that lock onto a screw, but pulling simply breaks it free and it's broken...this one managed to not break 1 clip so it holds but I need the otherside now...

i have always just pulled on them or get behind it with a door panel clip remover, it looks like a fork with 2 tines on it. i think i have only broken a couple of clips over the years but nothing major.

It's not coming off with the clip remover that's for sure lol...it's a metal rectangular clip that latches to the threads...so pulling breaks it...catch my drift?

ahh, those crappy ones. sorry i was thinkin of a differnt clip. those push over the bolts that hold the window to the door. i have a differant style removal tool that spreds apart vs prying. when they come off the plastic, usally you can hot glue them back into position. if you dont plan on removing that trim piece. can i ask why ur taking it off anyway?

That's what I was thinking bout doing was gluing them. I'm taking them off because I'm painting the truck, and I also changed all my lower plastics to charcoal, that piece is a tan color, so I'm wrapping it in the graphite suede that I have everywhere else. But I don't wanna pull it off now until I paint the door jams so I don't have to worry bout it lol
