Default Whats normal oil pressure 01 dakota? Is this normal?

I have a 2001 4.7 4 wheel drive Dakota and I can't remember or not if this is normal oil pressure or not.

This is going at 30mph, I had been driving it for about 6 mins only doing about 30 mph. When I came to a complete stop, the gauge went back down to the first white line.

Is that normal for the oil pressure to be that high? If not can someone tell me what it should be running at.

THANKS!!

I would say that's pretty normal. On the other hand if your idling and it's there then I'd say you have a problem lol. Oil pressure will always change, its completely normal.

our oil pumps are rpm dependent so variation is going to happen. if the check gauges light comes on or if you are under throttle and its on the lower hashmark constantly then you have issues.

Default High oil pressure

I have a 2001 dodge dakota, 4.7 V8, 4x4. when i turn the key on the oil pressure reads in the normal but at the high line after a second it pegs out in high. the motor is not running. the gauge does this even if you crank the truck. while running the gauge moves from high normal to pegged out high. what causes this?

oil pump is probably toast, or the filter is clogged really bad.
