99 dakota trans band adjustment HELP!

Default 99 dakota trans band adjustment HELP!

I bought a 99dakota and it has no reverse or it arely works so i went to change tranny filter and decided to adjust the bands and then it went bad . i stripped the front band adjustment screw because when i adjusted it i used foot pounds instead of inch pounds and now i cant back off the screw because i cant get a good bite plus i think there is to much pressure on the screw. please tell me there is a fix for this , thanks from the idiot

Is the head just messed up or is the bolt itself screwed up? If the head is messed up you can try going a size smaller socket and hammer it on there so it's nice and tight then back it off

Adjust both of them in until there is about 3/8 of an inch movment in the arm but usually the rev. band (rear) doesnt stretch like the (2 4) front band does.
