Thumbs down 98 Dakota

Hey guys names Craig here and trying to save some money by doing my own repairs,so i can give it to big oil with these fuel prices..lol. My problem i am having is that on my 98 Dakota v6 auto, with 110,000 miles has a couple of issues. The one i am looking for help with is that while its in park and idleing the speedo acts like its a Tach, the more I step on the pedal the higher the speedo reads. I just pick this truck up and owner said it sat for like a year and a half. So if any of ya ever came across this or know the fix I would love to here from ya ...Thanks for your time guys... Craig

well i would first suggest you take the throttle body off and take the throttle position sensor and the idle air sensor/valve off and clean everything. you may still have a bad idle air sensor/valve but i always like to clean them first.
