Why not? In my case the hood was dented anyway, and you don't have to make a big hole, mine's about 1/4 the size of the scoop. The stick-on scoop more than covers it. The scoop WAS a band aid for the dent, now it's a band aid over the hole.

I used one of them roto-zip type tools, just duck taped my little rectangle to make nice, straight lines to follow.

I do want to get some kinda rubber door/window molding and put in around the edges of the cuts though and pretty it up. It looks like a rough cut hole from the underside. Would look like it came that way with some molding on it. Reckon I'll do that when I invest $5 in PVC to re-route the CAI and get the battery tray and do the 2nd battery. I'm also thinking I need to put something inside the scoop right behind the hole in the hood to direct ALL the air down into my cone filter.

The only thing I'm displeased with is the fact I put the scoop on as soon as I got it to cover the dent, then got the idea to make it functional (and only really contemplated that when I determined I really need a 2nd battery with the winch, all my lights, etc.) so I took it off with fish line and had to scrape the 3m tape off the scoop, took the leftover tape residue off the hood easy enough with a pinstripe wheel.
The 3M tape I bought was thicker than what it came with, so there is a small gap around the scoop, you can see if you're up real close.

I ain't yanking the thing off again and it's not a big enough gap for bondo or anything. Oh well...
