Default coil question

Current truck lift setup- 2wd
3" PA Body Lift
1" spacer up front
2" drop shackles in the back

If I were to purchase a set of 2.5" lift coils ( http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-Dakota-2-5-Lift-Springs-V8-Lift-Kit-00-01-02-03-/320652797200?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item4aa8656510 ) and then added another inch of spacer making the new setup

3" Body lift, 2" spacers and 2.5" coils = 7.5" from stock, would I need new upper arms or could I use the stock arms on the 4.5" in suspension?

Original plan for the truck was to get the doetsch 3" which comes with new arms, but idk what im leaning towards yet, just exploring my options I suppose.

Thanks in advance.

I am not sure whether or not you will need new upper arms or not. But, I am planning on putting new lift coils on. I'm looking at 3" lift coils (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...K%3AMEWAX%3AIT). For the rear i dont know yet, but I'll probably do something with shackles or add a leaf. Hopefully once all this is done I can squeeze in 32s or at least 31's. BTW your truck looks sweet and i understand why you wanna lift a 2wd, because i do too lol.

I looked through his store and impulse bought v8 2" coils just now haha.

You're right, either shackles or add-a-leaf, I went with shackles in the rear and 1" spacers up front + the 3" body lift originally. When these 2" coils get here I'll be throwing those in along with the 1" spacer which should make my front able to clear 33"s. Right now I'm running 265/75/16's which is a "technical" 32". So you should be good if you lift at least 3" in the front.

Today I mounted up two new 3 foot firestik antenna's in the bed, mounted my train horns under the bed, should be mounting the compressor and tank tomorrow somewhere, tinting the front windows and windshield sometime next week and then once those 2" coils are put in I should be able to clear 33x10.50's and I'll finally be finished with my truck haha.

I appreciate the compliments though, lemme know when you get yours to your liking.

Hahaha. Do you know if there is a difference between the V6 and V8 coils? I was trying to figure that out before I pulled the trigger. If the V8's are stronger, I would rather buy them if they would properly fit in my V6's suspension. I think the 2wd suspensions are the same with different engines. My goal for tires are 265 75 16s, but I don't wanna go too big and hurt my mileage alot. You're basically doing everything I wanna do to mine lol. Once I start working in a month I'm gonna do the lift, tint my windows, get another air horn my old one broke when i crashed, and get a cb setup. Oh yeah, also, do you think it would be too much stress on the front end if I were to add coil spacers in addition to the 3" lift coils? And that's the picture I saw, looks sick in my opinion.

v6 daks sit lower than v8 daks because of engine size, my v8 is a lot heavier than your v6 therefore I need bigger coils than what comes stock in a v6 in order to not be super low to the ground. What size tires come stock on yours? Mine came with 255/70/16's, other than stock coil size the suspension components should be the same between the v6 and the v8.

I've currently got-
-3" piping from the cat back to a flowmaster super 44 with duals.
-Cobra nightwatch CB with 100watt PA
-Memphis audio Subwoofer 12" with Kenwood doorspeakers
-6k HID lows, Green HID Fogs, LED (audi lights) on top of the headlight wired to park lights
-2 Firestiks
-Offroad (no brand lol) lights on the hood
-3" PA body lift
-1" spacers
-2" shackles
-32" Toyo A/T's
-Cragar soft 8's
-Hornblasters train horns

pretty sure im forgetting somethings, but thats pretty much everything I've done to the truck haha.

Yeah my tires that are on there now are 255/65/R16. I am not sure what the stock size was but these were on it when I bought it. So do you think I should go ahead and get V8 coils then? They are the same price and if it means that they won't get forced down as much by the engine and front end weight then I'd rather get them. Not getting pushed down as much = higher ride lol.

As far as upgrades go, I've done mostly performance such as a Holley 5.9 V8 throttle body swap, drop in air filter (debating a CAI), and a magnaflow muffler. I also added some fog lights into the holes directly next to the stock fog holes. It's hard to describe but it's like right in that spot where there is 4 spaces in a row, and I put a fog light in each of the outer spaces so there's 2 fogs. It looks pretty sweet at night. Other than that not too much, my sound system was already upgraded to a Sony Xplod system, hard tonneau cover. I might be missing something but that's all i can think of now.
