dodge dakota front bumper help
I have a 99, but I figure they are likely the same. There are four brackets mounted directly to the frame of the truck. Taking the old off I am not sure how much help I will be, as we ripped mine off after the wreck...but putting it back on it is easiest to leave the middle two brackets attached to the frame, and the outermost brackets attached to the bumper initially. there will be hight adjustments on both, when you bolt them to the frame (two bolts for each bracket) bolt the middle two down first and get it to the height you want it and get it on there tight. When you go to do the outer two leave them snug, but still enough "play" in it to adjust it, it is easier with help. Have the helper hold one edge of the bumper where you want it while you tighten that side down, then do the same on the other side.
Its been awhile, so sorry if its a bit sketchy, but if you have any questions from there I will answer them best I can.
