Default Got a shift kit..

I ordered a Transgo Jr shift kit for my truck, as well as a higher stall torque converter, now that I have it all, I have heard from a couple people that the shift kit will make no difference in the transmission becasue it is all electronically shifted, and the computer will override the newly installed kit, is this true? Will a simple reflash of the computer be the key or will I have to start looking into custom programming in order to get the full benefit of the shift kit?

I'm afraid its true. I fitted a Transgo kit on mine and was very disserpointed. It made a small difference but it was barely noticeable. Not worth the effort of dropping the pan unless you're already changing the oil and filters.

I fitted a Sonnex line booster recently and it DOES work! It achieves the same thing (higher line pressures) but does it electronicly, so it overrides the computer, NOT the other way round! The Sonnex firms up and quickens the shifts without making it rough or jerky. Its also a 10min job to fit (OR remove!)
