I have a question i think i know the answer just not sure. Will a 01 durango rear diff. be direct swap for a 00 dakota with the same gear ratio. Thanks for all of the help in advance.

 

Just talked to scrap yard today, i know the dakotas are exchangeable between 2000 thru 2002 only, was thinking of swapping them out but turns out my spider gears are bad, much easier and cheaper to fix, Hope this helps

 

Your Dakota has the rear leaf springs above the axle and the Durango has the leaf springs under the axle, so no it is not a direct swap

 

Depends if his Dak is 2wd or 4wd, which he didn't specify...
