Default Transmission cooling line

Hey guys,

My trans line that goes to the bottom of the radiator has rusted out. I went to purchase the trans line and found out the part I actually need is the connection that threads into the radiator then connects to the trans line. The dealer told me I cannot buy this part unless I get a new radiator.

I find it hard to believe I can't get this. Any thoughts?

My truck is a 2000 Dakota 4.7l.

Thanks

Or you could just cut it back to where it isnt rusted and install an aftermarket trans cooler in front of the rad.

Its broke off right at the fitting that goes into the radiator. So without the fitting I'm kinda screwed.

Do you know how much pressure is in the line?

Smile Update

Confirmed today with several dealers and auto shops that the part I need only comes with a new radiator.

Went to carquest and the guy knew right away what I needed. Purchased a fuel line repair kit (which had the same connection going to the radiator),trans oil cooler hose and a couple clamps. Spliced it into the cooler line and just like new again. Carquest rocks!
