just wonderin i got a 4.7 dakota and i just replaced the fuel pump and my fuel guage is really slow i turned my overhead display to dte and it barley moves every few minutes it will go up like 2 or 3 not sure wats wrong its workin just extreamlly slow any ideas

 

It could be the pump is not lined up right in the tank. There is a mark on top of the tank and a line-up mark on the pump. You have to orient the pump with the marks lined up pointing at each other to get the pump situated in the tank so there is room enough for the sending unit float arm to travel up and down unobstructed. If the pump is not positioned right the arm will rub on the inside of the tank which might be causing your arm to move slowly and therefore read slowly on the gauge.

There is also a possibility the pump is bad, the float arm is bent or there is a dirty/loose electrical connection on the top of the pump but I would say check the positioning of the pump first.
