Hotchis is exactly what it's promo is "horsepower for your suspension" it's by far the best enginerred setup for our applications, unfortunately you will be paying ALOT for it. Lower center of gravity, better traction, stiffer chassis are all the things that need to be covered, just like the previous posts. The only reason why i'm not going with the Hotchkis setup is because i was given a 2/3 lowering kit for free, so i'm opting to replace the shocks with top of the line ones, and a set of huge anti sway bars, along with new rubber, and looking into the chassis strengthening.

"only thing is I dont wanna go to low because sometimes I go onto dirt roads or the occasional pasture, so would this still be a good idea?"

Dude... you want a performance truck or a hay hauler? If you're goin in the dirt (Pasture? Whatta ya doing... boinkin' sheep?) No... not a good idea with a Hotchkis set-up... no more than drivin' a Viper down a cow path. (tsk-tsk) Methinks you'd do better with a 4WD.

If you want to go cheap without significantly dropping the truck, buy a used R/T suspension from someone who installed a Hotchkis - there's usually one available for $250 or less including the OEM sways, shocks, coils and leafs which only drop the truck 1".

If you retain your OEM ride height you'll never be able to come close to duplicating the Hotchkis handling, but if you add aftermarket sway bars (Hellwig or Hotchkis), get some nice shocks, get some grippy tires, etc. you'll be better off than you are now.

Without any questions the TVS setup is by far THE best for actual handling improvements to our trucks, and the R/T suspension will not even compare.

does anybody have any pics of this setup?? I would love to see a side by side by side comparasion of a reg dakota, an R/T, and one with the HTVS on it so i could see the diff. in height. just so i get it right if i do the HTVS I can basically measure 3 inches down from my rear to the top of my back tire and that is where the back would sit, along with 2 inches on the front correct?
