Default new guy

well i have been on this site before but never registered till now. i just bought a 2001 dodge dakota quad cab 4x4. it has the 4.7 v8 and is a 5 speed. anything i need to know about these motors? i have had a few dakotas before. thanks

5speed, lucky. other than regular maint. they can last a while. just dont abuse them like me.

yea i love 5 speeds. my last two dakotas were 5 speeds.

Well, Ive been running mine for 60k, I think...reg oil changes and PCV valve...no issues. Should do coolant soon I guess. Some new shocks and tires have been the most expensive...until I get my cams and throttle body put on...otherwise, solid truck. Replace any suspension components you can. I need to do bushings in my a-arms, but that is another month...
