98DakotaSLT Build Thread
Heres the pics! sorry for the day late haha, as you all can imagine I have been driving around everywhere with these on.
I had a alignment done imidiatly after they were put on. Truck drives really nice and the tires are suprisingly quiet. Also, I like my gear ratios alittle better now.
Wheels are a 16x8 Procomp 7089, 4" backspace. Tires are 285/75/16s Cooper ST's

Planning on a dupont single stage, I am going to stick with the deep amythest pearlcoat, I thought about black or gunmetal but this way I do not have to paint my door jambs, engine bay...ect. Saves valuble time.
It will not be the same however, chrome and two tone are not part of the plans. I've divulged too much, keep it a suprise.
Currently the trucks at a 180 grit, more 180 needed for hood and roof to remove the checking, 320s next for entire truck, then etching primer on places where rocks had chipped through, where checking was too deep ect. Then bodywork on the rear and filler. Then high build primer over the bodywork. Then paint! Considering using a sealer but heard mixed reviews about their effictivness. Hopefully I will have my bodywork finished so I can still paint by the weekend, weather has been awfull. Its hard to sand and use filler when its pouring and windy. Wish I had a spot to work on it inside and a second vehicle to drive in the meantime....
When it comes time for paint though that will all be done in a shop and booth at a friends place.
Can't wait to have it done and put back together in time for august. Fingers crossed haha.

Haha at least one guy noticed nothings been done!
Yes, the truck has not been painted. But: Recently ive been working 6+ days a week and am going to so for another two weeks, then take 3 off for the remainder of august. I have decided to allow more time for the truck to be done=better result, (also have alternative transportation right now). I have switched painters and am now going with a basecoat clearcoat job, using a high quality paint. The guy has 36 years of experiance and does bodywork and paint as a hobby, his hourly rate is very reasonable.
Right now as the truck sits, majority of body is nearing completion, I have all the new(or used) parts I need in my possesion, and an end date is looking to be end of next week, possibly later (everyone knows how things work haha), (truck 100 percent reasembled) road-ready, possilby minus the spray in boxliner and a rear bumper (may be buying one tommorow).
I will post pics up very soon of the bodywork that has been done and the trucks current state. Its nice that it dosent have to move out of his shop.

Awesome dude! Can't wait to see the final product!
The reason I asked is cause I've been doing non stop body work and paint on my truck for the past 4 days and today things went rather slow and remembered your truck haha
