Default Wrong Cat, Muffler or something else?

SO as you may or may not know, I'm not to happy with what I call "Magna-Crap" Cat I put on my truck. Since I put it on I have seen a decrease in get up and go, although it seems slightly easier to spin the tires.. with no throttle at all.. that really does not mean much.. I could do that before anyways.

Since putting it on.. I have been battling this problem of decreased performance. I'm about to the point ot cut it off and put my OEM factory back on it. However what I want to discuss with you just so I'm making the right choices.

I started running Supreme Grade in the truck and the truck seems to have restored its Fuel Milage a little (Very little) as well as a little bit more pickup going through the bands.. (normal dringing increase) however it still feels like its being held back..

It seems that in first gear initial take off.. (Very random rather its got power or not) since the supreme fuel it seems to be more constant.. and feels good.. but get into 2nd and it seems i have to push the pedel in further for the same amount of speed increase as I did in first.. then 3rd same thing.

Does this sound like too MUCH back pressure or too LITTLE?
I was told by magna-crap that my problems I was having sounded like I had not enough (TO LITTLE) however the CAT it self seems 50% smaller than OEM and I really feel like its nothing at all what they claim it to be.

Don't get me wrong the truck has some power.. and ballz just not what its capable of..

Thanks.

ditch the POS cat and get a spintech highflow cat. i dont think we need to worry about backpressure, even if you have the 3.9 or the v8.
a sign of a bad cat is the motor being choked out at upper rpms.

Magnaflow is going to tell you that you need back pressure...Otherwise no one would buy thier cats...Back pressure robs power.

Have checked your intake Plenum...?

I had someone take a look at it some time ago.. they didnt think it was a problem.. but yeah.. there is a big difference between the one I have on now and the OEM.

The reason I asked the question I asked is because magna-crap claims their cats (This one specifically indicated by them as well) have 45% more flow, however the area and internal volume is 50% smaller than Stock, so that alone tells you there is no way in hell. That thing would have to be hollow, which its not.

So I think the one on there is actually restricting flow vs the OEM. What i was thinking about doing just for the hell of it.. cutting this one off.. and putting some connectors on it.. same for the OEM that way i can just unbolt the bish.. put a non-fouler on the O2 Sensor and hollow out the Manga Crap..

Thoughts? I Can just throw the OEM back on when its time to get inspection done. Does any of this make sense?

Violently shove 2.5 exhaust piping though center of factory cat. Run exhaust as usual.
Kidding about the violently shoving, but thats what I did, It only "looks" like I have a cat. I just punched it out and ran a pipe straight through the center of it. Unless you have emissions....

I am actually looking for a new cat, mine has the material broken free and ratteling around in there. It is getting annoying. So what should I replace it with? Or how do I get that crap out with out cutting the cat to pieces?

If you NEED a cat, I'd go with spintech's. Magnablow's is garbage unfortunately. I'm pretty sure its inner diameter is smaller than stock

It is smaller than stock and even though they tell you that there are more holes, (There are) they are just smaller.. so all in all the actual flow.. meh.. is decreased if anything IMO..

i really want to just take this magna-crap and knock all the insides out..

How exactly do i connect a non-fowler with the O2 sensor? and how do i pass emmisions testin?
