Default 05+ Intake Manifold Rocks!

I've finally fitted a 05-07 intake manifold onto my 2000 4.7. I say finally because after buying a secondhand one off ebay which turned out to be junk, I decided to see how expencive a new one from a dealer was.
Much to my surprise, it was only going to be about £140 (aprox $220). The only problem was that they couldn't give me a delivery date. Three months later I got a call to say it had arrived but the price had changed....it was now £100 ($160)! Apparently, they were on world-wide back order, and the change of owners (MB to Fiat) didn't help.
I took it to my local Jeep specialist, where we found out that it wasn't quite a straight swap. There was a big hole in the new one (for the EGR system) that would need to be plugged and there wasn't a threaded hole for the Air Temperature sensor. I made a nylon plug with the right size (1/4 NPT) thread in it, which solved both problems. There was also a very aukward vacume hose at the back of the manifold that needed a bit of re-routing.

It has all been worth it! I was a little worried that the new manifold would push the power higher up the rev range, at the cost of low down grunt but I shouldn't have worried!
The power is even better low down off the line and then REALLY starts pulling hard towards the top end. I'd previously fitted a set of KRC 212X's but had been rather disserpointed with them. With the new manifold they really work well.
As you all know, with the auto box, it will shift up at 5500RPM under full throttle but you can already feel the power dropping off from about 4750. Now it keeps pulling hard right up to the gear shift!

I surgest you order yours now before this batch sells out!
