Default got a few ram air tech questions

ok here is my first grade drawing of what im wanting to try and do

i am wanting to get this r/t hood scoop functional why have it if its only looks when you can change it and get some power from it

my idea is to mount the hood scoop to the hood remove the center portion in the front were the grille goes and mount it to a hinge of some sort so the "flap" is hinged then find a electric actuatior of some sort wired to a switch so when i want ram air i hit the switch and there ya go but i need to find one i can hook dog tag chain or something to it and mount the actuatior on the under side of the hood hope my pic helps does anybody know were to find a actuatior or something that will work for me

cause i need to find a way to seal it off if need be we get alot of snow and at times rain but i want the benifits of the ram air and dont mind doing some work when i paint the scoop im gunna repaint a few spots on the truck when i got the truck some body used a rag with a rock in it and scratched the **** out of the hood so i figured i would use some inginuity and make something custom and practical for where i live

i think you are over thinking it man, billy lived in omaha, rain and snow as far as i know no issues with his ram intake before he went on boost. you ride so you can do what you thinks best but i personally wouldn't mess with it. just use a piece of rubber to cover it in the winter and remove in the summer. since that when you really need ram air.

I'm afraid I can't offer anything on this subject but I REALLY want to see something like this. Out of the box thinking man, I like it.
