rusted freeze plugs

Default rusted freeze plugs

have a 2001 dakota...some of my freeze plugs were leaking....had them replaced, but mechanic said it was a sign of internal corrosion and i should get rid of truck.....4.7 with 180,000 miles....do i need a new truck or new mechanic?

If everything else on your truck is good then keep your truck. You can try buying new freeze plugs and work on the current engine, but it might just be easier to pick up another 4.7l engine.
