Bull Bar did it's job, I guess...
Again, I know exactly how you feel. My rates went up after mine last winter. At least you didn't crash before that crazy storm and have no truck or power. We didn't have power for like 3 or 4 days and they're still cleaning up trees around here. I don't know about you but right now it's pouring here. There's been some strange weather lately. Anyways good luck getting yours fixed.
A little update...I took a peek at the body shop's junk lot...Peeked over the fence and saw the front end all taken off...Never actually seen my engine at that angle before...crazy.
If you all want to hear a good joke, you've come to the right post.
So...got a hold of the shop. Remember that $2,500 estimate? Well somehow it just got jacked up to $6,000 If any of you can tell me where $6,000 is in this damage...please feel free to let me know! I told them to give me a copy through a fax. An hour later I still don't have one. What I got from the call...is that they are replacing the hood, fender, lower radiator core support. The lower core support had a huge rust hole in it, so it pretty much fell apart. They only put in 3 hours of frame work. For some reason they think it is necessary to replace the radiator even though it was hardly damaged, and was not leaking. Unless these idiots just don't know wtf they are doing, there is no way, by the grace of God that this small accident costs the entire worth of my truck.
Oh yea and here's the kicker...I sent this thing in almost 2 weeks ago...expected completion date is AUGUST FREAKIN 25TH
Screw this....at least the rust is gone and last of any body defects left. I think I'm just gonna sell this. I just don't want to be taking care of something so much that in the end I get this kind of bull****. I want to get the ****tiest car ever, so that way I feel like I never have to take care of it.
I really just don't know what else to think or say right now.

One of my Dakotas was recently hit in the front very similar to yours. It had a original mopar front push bar with loops around head lights. Slight damage on rf fender and hood. Bumper was shot also. Needed a new grill shell. Original bid was $3900.
They work with allstate so they already took care of it. They already have most of the parts so its too late to save those. I am going there in a few minutes to have a good talk with their GM.
Well...I guess parts finally came in, so I guess they are finally going to start putting it back together. The picture was taken by one of my friends that work at the Enterprise behind the shop. The truck has been sitting outside in their junk lot in the rain with no hood on for the last 3 weeks, which I'm not too happy about.
Anyway...I just want my truck back. I've been missing it. Little cars just don't do anything for me, my dad's 2002 Ram 5.9L is for some reason very, very slow...weak at acceleration. I haven't been enjoying my drives the last month. I miss my truck.

They pumped up that cost to make their money I can tell but not that bad it looks like an over kill in replacement of parts but if you want a great job they look to be doing THAT so you are making out even though they are over doing the job to make a few bucks take it as it comes just be glad they are not totaling it.
Please post pic's when done it should look nice.

Alright quick question. You've seen the picture. Now...You, by yourself, have these brand new parts ready to be installed. frame is straight...no problems. How long and like I said...by yourself, would this job take you to put together?
They just got it into assembly today, apparently. They are still saying August 25th. "Yea there's a lot of stuff to put back together..." Bull freakin' ****! Give me a half day of hours, and I can do it BY MYSELF. Given with 2-3 guys? Give me a freakin' break. I have a lot of projects to do for my work...I NEED my truck back.
The hardest part was painting the panels. They did that in 2 days...why does assembly take a body shop with all the tools they would need to make the job easier take so long? These guys have not listened to me since I got there. They couldn't even get my phone number entered in on day 1 when I told them my number. I found out at about 2 weeks in that they had the wrong number. I even mentioned the rust spot they were supposed to fix in my wheel well from a last repair3 separate times and nothing got passed on. So much for lifetime warranty. I guess in the fine print says "If we don't tell anyone else, we have no idea what you're talking about"
Poor communication...poor listening skills...poor employees. Seriously...I think all they heard when I spoke to them was "cha-ching" and that's it.
/endrant.

At this point, the only place I'm taking my truck to, are the 2 shops that racers work at. Because racers won't F**k with racers.
