Default HID fogs

I remember user had his ballasts mounted on the vertical core supports. The leads on mine aren't long enough, I was thinking of mouting them horizontally on the frame rail, between bumper and inner fender. looks to be enough room. Will this still be as safe?

Also, how do you get the safety cap off the wire? Cut a notch in it?

Also, mine has an extra wire going through the grommet, 989 to bare wire. The manu says it's to parallel into the stock wiring. I can cut this off, correct?

I have mine attached to my inner fender. I just had enough room to run it down through a hole in my fender and to my fogs. As far as the safety cap you have to get the white ring off the light first for it to come off. Its been 7 months since I did mine so its kinda hard to remember lol

I got it all made up this morning. Lenses should be home about same time as me, I have the rest of the connectors I need in my truck, found out the leads are JUST long enough (about 2" to spare) to mount the ballasts on the core supports. So i MIGHT get to test them tonight.
