Default Bizarre Overheat

I just finished installing a 3" body lift on my 04 Dak V-6.
Install involved removing the upper & lower radiator shrouds and both hoses.

After everything was back together, I filled the radiator with a gallon on A/F that said you could mix with all types. (couldn't get the pink) I didn't flush the system.

After about 10 minutes of driving, the check gauges light came on and the temp gauge was almost in the red.

I just drained and rinsed everything and tomorrow, I'm going to do a full system flush.

Did I eff things up? What could cause this?

could have possibly had a air pocket in the cooling system. Run it with the cap off until the thermostat opens up and no bubbles surface
