I had to pull my truck into a local garage that doesnt have a very good rep. There are only a few garages that have the computers to test the truck and non have a good rep. Had a bad feeling to start with now i have a nightmare. My truck would run for a few days and then wouldnt start. So took it to the garage. They thought it was the computer, and it wasnt. So now they have exposed every wire in the engine compartment. they have mad a total mess of my truck and they still have no idea whats wrong with it. It had been a month since i took it in. They have no idea what they are doing. So what do i do now. I think they are just trying to get as many hours in as possible so they can hit me with a huge bill. But if they cant fix it can i request my truck to be put back together and not pay for anything. They have made matters worse, heck last time i talke to the mechanic he told me they wre losing ground. What choices do i have i dont think they can fix it. I am at wits end.

 

I'm thinking lawyer? I would have taken it elsewhere, even if you had to drive. I would request to have it put back together, but that doesnt mean they wont hack something up just to spite you. If they havent already by getting lost in the harness. The only wires in the engine compartment really are for the fuse panel (driver fender) and the computer (pass fender). They obviously don't know what they are doing, so I'd get it out of there while it's still in one piece.

Only a stealership will have the true computer for testing why it wont run. But you could have scanned any DTC codes using the key or a free scan from autozone.

 

I have seen this many times these people are not honest get out now even if it takes a tow truck to do it parts will start to disappear and never get them back.

They will say but it’s under warranty don’t fall for that get out

Then post as you can we will try to help you get it back together.

Dont say put it back together they will know the jig is up and probably do more damage to it or steal parts off it.

Im not sure how to proceed but you need to get it out tell them to stop all work now

I will drive 100 miles to get to a good shop so many shops are crooks or just dont know what they are doing.

 

I would show up with a tow truck without notice and say you are taking your truck back. Take it to your house buy a haynes shop manual and we will try and help you piece it back together. Your problem sounds as a failing crank sensor or bad fuel pump wiring.

 

Two months his car sat in this shop it was tore all apart looked like a Junker when I went to look at it I was like WOW they trashed your car it’s a mess WTF you got reamed he had no money to pay them to get it out so he just gave them the car did he get F—ed over.

Stopped in to see my truck havent been in there since monday. They think that they fried the second computer and have ordered a new one. He thinks this is the problem. Gonna give them till wed. If the puter doesnt work gonna demand they put it back together.

best to get FACTORY service manual. i have one for each chrysler product i have owned. total 35 manuals

As said earlier in above replies.

Don't ask them to put it together. Just show up and call a tow truck and take it home or a better shop. and don't pay a dime.

make them show you receipts for parts they bought. you can look on the receipts to see if there was a core charge. if no core charge ask for old parts. I always ask for the old parts back. can't trust my mech either. he does good work as long as he is sober.


Let someone you trust work on it YOU.

You have done without your truck this long a few more weeks couldn't hurt.

Everybody knows somebody thats a shadetree. ask them for help. ask them to come over, get a case and put it on ice. don't pop-a-top until all work is done for the day or work stops.

look for a larry the cable guy types if nothing else.
