Default How much weight can I tow....

....with my 2004 Dodge Dakota 4x4 w/3.7L V6 "Magnum" engine?

I'm looking at renting a bobcat (6000#) and hauling it 15 miles and back.

Can I do it (truck has a tow package)?

3.7L is not a Magnum Engine, it's a PowerTech.

You could likely check your owner's manual, but I'm gonna guess it's around the ~4500# to 5000# mark.

6000# for a dakota unless the engine is larger, and the gear ratio higher... is gonna be a stretch.

Should be able to, just take it easy on the speed. Pulling is not so much the problem as stopping is. I pulled a small 4wd backhoe with my 97 Nissan 4wd 4cyl with no probs.

Id do it with dual axle trailer, and brakes...so long as your tounge weight is under 4-500lbs. Otherwise, have it delivered.

Honestly, heed the stopping caution...nothing like coming to a light, with or without traffic, 4 wheels screeching, and trailer just keepin on keepin on...a 4500 lb truck trying to stop ~10500lbs, isnt a good scenario...esp if you're brakes aren't in the best shape(no judgment, just a general statment).
