In a pickle yet again :/
My dakota has 233,245 miles on the motor and at the end of today she did not want to start. All day long she was firing but now she won't even hick up.
I'm not quite sure what the exact problem is here, I fear it may be the fuel pump though :/
symptoms:
It's turns but doesn't start up, almost as if there's either no gas or spark
After I crank on it for about 1 min I can smell gas out of the exhaust but I can't hear the pump actually turn on at the key.
I know there's gas in the tank, had just put 3 gallons in a couple hours prior with only driving 3 miles tops.
Haven't been able to check for spark yet, I'm getting a buddy over tomorrow to watch the plug's while I turn the key(A little hard to do with 1 person alone) to check if i got spark.
Crossing my fingers that its just the Crank Position Sensor or somethings screwy with the distributor.
Any idea's on where to look/inspect?
This is my only vehicle so I need to get it back up and running asap so any info would be very much appreciated

Just some thing to keep in mind when checking for spark.... Your spark plug may fire on the outside, although it may not fire while inside the block. This is because of the atmasphere. Just a thought for you to keep in mind while checking for spark.

Good to hunt for spark. Anyone who has had a sensor go will offer better input to the systems resonse. You might be able to rent a ODB scanner from Autozone/Advance (if you have a way to get there) for free. They put a hold on its value, and when you return it, it goes away. Not sure if they do that with scanners tho.
Otherwise, search for the symptoms in past posts, and you might find the answer.
