Yea, there is an efficiency gain, but it depends on the endgame for that motor. Just have to see...either way, 30 over, decked, hopefully P/P heads, stacked intake, nice TB and a tune should make some serious HP. I hope its a pee wee 3.9 body, make it a true sleeper...only give away would be the fat tires youll need to hook up all that HP and TQ

Yes, magnethead, I will have a tuner and dakman, it will be my daily driver with weekend forays out in the desert and mountains. It actually is turning out to be kind of an "accidental" hot rod truck. Its almost like i cant help but build it to make 350-400hp. nice but I am having to also bullet-proof the tranny, transfer case, front and rear diffs also. Lots to think about and to consider for a first time builder but my brother-in-law has been building race engines for about 30 years. I will "sacrifice" top end power for good low end torque as long as its never, ever a dog. Thanks for the comments guys. $300 or $400 isnt that much money in the long run for a better, stronger, more reliably running engine when its all said and done, and I do have the time to wait and the available overtime.
