Cool Designing Sub/Enclosure/Amp setup

I'm setting up a sound system for my '02 Dakota QUAD CAB, and I was wondering if ya'll could give me your opinions on what I've selected. I've done my homework, and this is the stuff I've chosen:

Subs: 2 Kicker CVT 10" shallow mount subs (four-layer voice coil; 400 watt rms)

http://www.amazon.com/Kicker-10CVT10...6061745&sr=8-1

Amp: Kenwood Kac 8105D (300 X 1 @ 4 Ohms; 500 X 1 @ 2 Ohms)

http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-Kac-81...6061817&sr=1-1

Box:

My questions are concerning the 4-layer voice coil: I can wire this to the amp with 2 Ohms, right? Also do you think this box will ACTUALLY fit my truck? It seems like enclosures aren't very easy to come by for the Dakota..
Your thoughts?
Thanks!

get pair of 4 ohm subs and wire them in parallel to get 500 watts out of the amp. that gives each sub 250 watts. Versus a pair of 2 ohms in series gives each sub 150 watts.

Are these subs not 4 Ohm? The only reason this confuses me is because they are 4 layer voice coil..

These subs are single voice coil, 4 Ohm, maybe this is the route I should take? Although they are from '07..

Aight so after some extensive research on my end, my conclusion for sub boxes behind the rear seat of the 2nd gen. quad cab Dakota is this:
MTX makes a single sub enclosure called the MTX Thunderform. It's expensive as hell though.
Other options include a set of two boxes for either 8" or 10" subs. One mounts to the rear of the cab on either side, behind the back seats. During the install, you need to remove your back seat, but afterward you can reinstall them. After the install, however, your back seat will not be able to flip down, meaning you cannot access the space directly below the seat (because this forces the upright part of the seat to push backward into the subs) Therefore, your amp must be installed elsewhere, such as under the front seat(s).

This set of sub boxes is available for $129 plus shipping at the following site:
https://www.soundoffaudio.com/item.cfm/id/2185

Hope this helps. Ill try to post pics once I complete the install.

yeah i might do that route. but you can mount the sub in between the boxes.. on the cab. ive done that on my other dakota

edit: but i can assure you i can make two of these boxes for hell of a lot cheaper then 130 bucks with wood/nails/liquid nails to seal the box etc.

What do you mean mount it b/w the boxes on the cab? btw i think i'm just going to go with one of the kickers. Since it's 400 watts rms - fully powered should be plenty of bass for my taste. now for some door speakers

also, you installed superchips on your Dak? how's that workin out for ya? Does it make a big difference?

uhm like the inside of the cab facing the bed of the truck but on the inside against the wall. drill it in there. and i love it, everyone on here says sct tuner which i heard is the best but i already bought this tuner before i heard about it so i decided to just use it. i think it makes it work so much better with the combinations of a cai and throttlebody
