Swapping out stock vibration dampener
Hey! So the machine shop calls this morning and while attempting to do the balancing on my 5.9l they discover the stock vibration dampener shimmies while spinning. You need a new one, he says. it can be balanced without it but..., he says. A new stock one costs around $200? Is there a way to get one that will replace the stock one for less? is it advisable? If I have to, I will buy the stock replacement, but money's getting kinda tight over here. Thanks.
On a 5.9 V8 or is it a typo and you meant 3.9 V6 since your Vehicle bar states 3.9?
It is called a Harmonic Balancer on the 5.9. I just bought a new one for my 5.9 last month.

I am swapping out the 3.9L V6 for the 5.9L V8. Not a typo. I'll change the profile info as soon as the swap is complete. Thanks for the information and your quick reply.
