A Question on the 2.5L engine regarding the Harmonic B. and timing chain
I believe my harmonic balancer is in need of replacing
My question is should I also replace the timing chain tensioner at the same time is it a needed replacement I can find nothing on this the dealership said NO not needed.
If so what other seals may I need to replace my harmonic balancer if any.
I’m doing this because I’m getting a vibration in acceleration as of late.
I have good news I rechecked my cylinder compression and it was just fine 120 to 140 so my engine is in good shape always used Mobile 1 and regular oil changes.
Engine 1998 2.5L with 110K on it
Thanks for any help offered

dont know that
Auto zone just said what to do the first time it came out bad 100 to 95 at best then I did it again and came up with an average of 120 to 135 I think I didnt have the sparkplug insert in snug so I got a bad test that first time last week.
It was done with the engine still a bit warm with the coil disconected that is how I ran the test and I did a wet test this time so like first test 120 wet 135 to 140.
