Default Please Help!!! Squeaking sound !

Hi, I have a annoying problem with my 97 dakota sport 4x4 it is a squeaking from around the front suspension. It only happens if i push the front end of the car up and down or when i go over small bumps. I recently changed my ball joints upper and lower so it shouldnt be the problem. I read on a couple of forums that the tie rods or bushings could be causing this. If so is it enough if i just grease them or use some wd40 on them or is it necessary to change them..also!!! very big question is it SAFE to drive it this way or not until i fix them??

Thank you for your help!

Could be control arm bushings. Mine squeaked from the front end and it was the control arm bushings. Also could be the sway bar bushings. Both of which are safe, just annoying. Tie rods are a little different. Having a tie rod break can be pretty bad. I had one break but I was luckily only going 20mph at the time. Mine, however, weren't squeaking at the time.

My bet is either control arm bushings or sway bar bushings. You can hose them down with wd-40 and it MIGHT go away but it will come back soon.

Hopefully, for your sake, it is sway bar bushings since they're cheap and easy to fix. Control arm bushings aren't expensive but pretty difficult to replace and requires a lot of time and a press.
