I am doing a 3.9 to 5.2 engine swap in my 98. I pulled the old engine and all that good stuff but the harness from the 97 ram is completely different and don't want to pull the dash. Is the v8 Dakota harness the same as the v6 besides the injectors? Also since the PCM is out of am automatic will that give me problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated

 

hi the dakota harness is the one you need to use just add 7&8 inj wires to ecu connetor.but the ecu from the ram will not work.you need to buy one for dakota.i just swap 3.9to 5.9 in my 97 dakota and i can tell you that i used a 99 durango ecu in mine but i had auto trans ialso try 97 5.2 ecu from other 97 dakota and it would start and quit hope this helps

 

Thanks I found an ecu from a 98 Dakota. I'm just figuring out to to get it to work with my 5 speed
