Question Question on a portable jump starter...

I want to get one before winter in case I need it.

I know that the battery is 750 cold crank amps. So what amperage would be the bare minimum I would need for a portable jump starter? Most of them seem to be in the 250-300 CCA range. Above that, the price seems to jump exponentially.

Any/all recommendations and advice appreciated...

what brands have you found? We carry some from Schumacher now and they seem to be better build that what we carried in the past

The main 3 brands I'm finding are Clore, Schumacher and Cobra. I don't want a bunch of bells and whistles (air compressor, lights, AC outlets, etc.), just something I can pop the hood, attach the leads and start the truck. Just wondering what amperage I need.

Harbor freight buddy! Mine has been going strong for 3 years now. I use it for a bunch of different things. I only had one time when it wouldnt start a vehicle. The battery had a dead cell( the water froze in the battery haha) But even the jumper cables hooked to my truck for 5 min just barely got it to start.

Harbor freight works for me! Again though, how many cold-cranking amps should I have as a minimum?

Mine is 400 I believe. I'd say 250 is minimum I would try to keep 300-400. Get the highest you can while in your price range.
