NO hunks or pieces of what looks like a peice of a small clip with teeth? Thats what I found in mine.. 2 little ones and i know where it came off; right behind the C clip; and that round thing in side there is a little small 'thing' have no idea what it is but it broke off a small piece. I dont have any trouble back there yet; but we'll see how long it holds together.

it actually looks like normal wear to me. as i was looking through the pictures i didn't see anything that looked outside of normal. general rule is no noise you are good to go on a open diff. now if it was lsd that isn't always the case.

Default NO chunks Lucky I am I think

I saw no chunks but all that burnt black crap that covers everything kind of freaks me out says it had become very Hot at one time I'm guessing that was before the Dealer changed my oil they never told me if it was low when they changed out the old oil just changed it and gave it back to me.

I have no Idea; I do have LSD though (4x4) If you basically in the center of the 4 spindles inside the LSD unit; on the drive side; you have the round center thing; then to the left (Drive side) you have the C clip/thing. Behind that you have the gear for the left side; in the center of the gear (pretty sure there is something behind that c clip; but in any case there is what appears to be in the center 2 round like rings both having teeth like a gear that interconnect with each other.

I have no idea what the hell it is what its called or what it does; all i know is you can see it if you look carefully where the little pieces broke off from.

I dont have any noise or anything like that.. changed fluid new gasket and am still driving it with no problems i'm aware of.

that was about 2-3K miles ago. I'm going to open it back up in another 2-3K and check things out and see if any more pieces of w/e that thing is are in the mag.

Dealer could not tell me what it was; and of course they only sell the whole LSD unit.

Sorry didnt mean thread jack.. just was throwing it out there..

Looks a little over black but gear oil is some nasty stuff after it gets worn out. I use brake cleaner on diffs every time I change the oil in them seems like they best stuff to clean up the crap.
