One, that is alot of miles. Two, all the mods and upgrades means that some one raced it around town and drove the crap out of it. Any type of sports car or truck that has been upgraded, means they upgraded it for a reason... they wouldnt put all those parts to help it run better, if they werent gonna dog it. That goes with any vehicle. All you can do is pray the person who had the truck kept up on all the maintance, and that its still mechanically sound. Me though, I would still jump on the truck if I really wanted it... But would expect to have the truck show some signs of its history within the first couple weeks or so... Dont get me wrong dude... Im not trying to turn you away from it... It may be an awesome truck... Its hard to kill that 360...
I like your response because you pretty much said everything i kinda felt about it. The mods done..its a racey truck and the kid probably kept the exhaust clean if you know what i mean. But hey, i would too. When i drove that thing, it just feels like it wants to be driven hard. And yeah the miles are high on it which is another factor i'm not crazy about. I just like this one because it runs good, it has the single cab ( i hate extended cabs, i think they're pointless )..plus it looks great. Paint shines well..no scratches..nothin.
Like i said, I'll have our mechanic look at it and wait if the price goes down. I personally wouldnt pay over 4 grand for it. 6000 for that many miles? come on now
And even if i dont buy this one, atleast i got to drive an R/T and have a hell of good time in it!! it would put my old 3.8 Firebird to complete shame.

I've owned my '01 Dakota RT CC since Nov '00 and it now has 71K on the clock and I've done several mods to the engine to increase the performance. Don't really drive it hard all the time but have been known to get a little 'skiny pedal' crazy from time to time. Just because the truck has had some mods done to it doesn't necessarily mean it's been beat on constantly. I'd ask the dealer for a printed copy of a CARFAX report on the truck and also ask them for the name, address and phone # of the last owner. If possible, contact all the previous owners and ask some questions about the truck and how it was driven.

ALL Dakota RT's came from the factory with the 9.25 Anti-Spin rear diff with 3.92 gears. Check the sticker in the glove compartment for all the info. The only problem I've had out of my rear diff is the pinion bearing and I'm now on my 3rd set. My RT has the Dana 44 rear axle which seems to be a very common problem with those. Chrysler says it's Dana's fault and Dana says it's Chrysler fault but regardless the problem does exist with the Dana diffs.

X2 on that statement. Carbon buildup can be a very serious problem especially with short trip and low speed driving habits.

Anybody that thinks otherwise and calls themselves a 'master mechanic' has been sniffing too many exhaust fumes!!

It happened to my father-in-law's tundra. His wife drove it for a long time and never pushed it or got on it at all and a while later it started showing problems.

I've never heard the legitimacy of global warming compared to the easter bunny. That's a new one.

You're right, global warming is a sham. We'll also never run out of oil, nuclear war is safe and our waters are no where near polluted.

This is very common on diesels .. my friend is a certified diesels, honda chevy ford mechanic at a dealership and he gets a lot of the gas liners an such but he also gets a lot of the regular owners of diesels and he says people get pissed off when **** breaks and he asks them how much they drove it and they will say "i only drive the thing twice a week" and that is why all the little things happen. he said use a diesel for a diesel like towing and such, just driving it through town will roughly effect it, so long story short i believe in the carbon. considering carbon build up can lead to tap.

I do have a carfax, and the dealer was related to the previous owner of the truck, so he called him, got some info and called me back yesterday and told me the mods and what was done to the truck. I kinda thought the trans would have been rebuilt and modded..bc it shifts damn good. It still has the original owners manual too.
And yeah my trip to work 5 days a week is like 1.5 miles each way through town. so i do have short trips but i also go for a cruise once a week usually to "blow the cobwebs out" lol.

hopefully that link works. theres the truck. as u can see...some parts of the interior it looks as if the color wore off the panels and climate control dials..or they were painted white for some reason. I didnt like that when i drove the truck but it dont bother me much. U can see, its got some kind of body kit. I hate that carpet bedliner though..seems kinda stupid.

Id give him 4.
The crappy paint on the interior seems very rice-ey...so unless he took it somewhere, I really dont trust anyone that takes thier interior apart to customize it, but does a crappy job.
I hope it has a bed cover, or that carpet is surely nasty...or will be shortly...good luck...pretty nice looking truck..just needs some chrome to make the black pop.
