Default 2.5 4 cyl injectors

has any of you 4 banger drivers experianced a a dead miss at start up, then gose away in a few seconds after running? i know theses engine were rated at 28mpg, but i am down to 21.7mpg. i also know my idle are control steper is bad right now, but i have been having this miss problem for a some time now. it is number 3. i know plugs, wires and cap, roter are all good. noticed problem after truck got hot once. no engine problems exist. put head gasket on and everything looks wonderfull. have 214000 miles on truck and everything is stock exept the jet performance chip. p.s. chip is not causing missfire tried with out it. but just wodering if anyone els had this problem with injectors after high milles.

Default wow 214K

The 2.5L lasts that long didnt know Im glad to here that only 112K on my 98 base truck.

Sorry never had injector problems just rough running at times that I think was bad gasoline Go to a shop that removes the injectors and get them cleaned and checked out.

My 2.5L runs great after replacing the top O2 the O2 temp sensor and the TPS all at the same time big improvement.

Dont know what to tell you.

Thumbs up Great good to hear

I do most of my own work also I like my 2.5L Dakota sure about 50 Hp more would be nice but I’m happy with it.

Post how the new injectors work ok I would like to know how it turns out what brand did you get and new or rebuilt I see so few people with the 2.5L it’s nice to see other people with that engine and what they are doing to it.

I orderd the set of four siemens off of fiveomotorsport.com. I am sure they are new, but they should be in the mail in another day or two. the extra horse power would be nice, but i drive one way to work 72 miles, so i chose the more conservative gas using method. i also own a 05 Dodge ram 1500 single cab with the 3.7. ohnestly that thing actually has a lot of power. I hauled 150 square bails with it about 25 miles in tow/haul, and it didn't seem to have all that much trouble. a little slower take off minde you.
