Blown Head Gasket?
I have a 2004 Dodge Dakota, I am getting water and white smoke out of the exhaust. I did a compression test and all 6 read at 90. I am also getting codes P0123 P0113 P0171. Are there any other possible causes other than a blown head gasket or cracked head?
Thanks |
i wouldnt drive it anymore if you have white smoke. is there oil in the coolant?
no and I am def not driving it.
coolant in the oil? white smoke is the tell tail sign of a blown hg.
no theres none. Im pretty sure it is a blown head gasket as well i just dont know why theres no coolant in the oil and vice versa.
what do the plugs look like? if its an external leak then it makes it easier to tell which side is blown. most of the time its the passanger side. then pull the head off, if you are mechanically able.
so today there was no water or smoke in the exhaust and she was driving just fine but when i checked the spark plugs there was water on all of them. I have no idea what to think now...?
are you sure its water and and not coolant?
soo update..we just put this engine in and it had sat for a good while and i think there was water built up in the engine..the more i drive it the better it gets. hopefully all will stay well
