Default wire tracing question

ok the other day I got the codes on my truck and one was for the battery temp sensor, so I buy a new one and go to replace the old one to find two wire about 7 inches for the plug broken. but here is the problem. I can't see where it's broken off of. can somebody please help and point me in the right area to look at. it's between the put and the harness because it has factory tape on it. there are two wires. one is pink or red with two yellow stripes and the other is black with two blue stripes on it.
Thanks
