Stock thermostat temp for 2k 3.9?
All hoses are new and radiator and water pump are new. Heater core has been backflushed and i can hear blend door open and close. I'm getting heat but its nothing like it should be, both hoses going to and from heater core seem hot enough. I'm just wondering if I bought wrong temp thermostat last year. It only gets comfortable when fan speed is on low. Thanks ahead of time.
you might try either having someone flush your heater core or try doing it yourself. I had that issue after I replaced my thermostat, once I got it flushed I had hot air again. I think it was like $40 at the place I took it to near me.
I did have it backflushed twice just to see. I would think 180 would be hot enough but i'm thinking my tstat is 180 since its way before 210 on gauge, will try to take a picture later when I get off work of the gauge when engine is warmed all the way up.
Simple flushing might not work. It might take a couple of times to get it cleared. There is 3 steps you can take. 1. Water and compressed air 2.Bleach in the heater core(you have to let it sit in there for a few hrs) or the last method which can be very dangerous if your not well prepared. 3. is using easy off oven cleaner. I was to very curious to how the easy off method would work so I tried it on my woods jeep. It worked 100% You would sweat with the fan on the lowest setting lol.
A while back tons of black stuff started blowing out vents. Looked like some kind of insulation, guessing this could be part of it. Also, if i try to let it idle to get air out of system with cap off it overflows like something is clogged but everything is new. Best thing ive done so far has been filling heater core with prestone flush stuff and letting it soak, nothing extra came out though.
