i will try to keep this short. i just changed my 3.9 v 6 from 3.55 to 4.1 with posi. my mpg went from 9 mpg to 13 mpg, only cause i drive ONLY in town. the major deal is what speeds you drive. i am sure there are experts that could have a better idea than i.

4.10 give you a good balance of power and mpg even on highway. if you do offroading and towing 4.56 would be recommended. by looking at your sig it seems your truck is a pavement pounder, so 4.10 is what i would go with.

After the price of parts and labor/time spent, would replacing the 3.5 with a 4.10 worthwhile if you were looking mostly to improve your MPG?
Would it pay itself up in time or would it be to extreme with little payoff?

Just curious...

for a 2wd your looking at around $800 parts and labor for a gear change.
