hey guys i have a 99 cc dakota its a 5.2 5spd 4wd anyways tonight i pull out of a intersection and went about 200 ft and it started boggin like i turned the key off so i drifted of to the side it would start and barely idle and would just bog so i left it sit like 2 mi ns igt started up reved great went to pull out to leave and went like 5 feet started boggi ng again turned the key off and one few times started it revved and drove it the whole way home first time it has done anything like this but this morning i noticed when i go to shift gears it would rev the whole way up to almost 3 grand then back down then stopped doing it and t5he truck has 197 on it thats any help thanks in advance

 

As basic as is sounds, check the leads and wires from the battery. Make sure they're on tight. Also, make sure the ground is actually grounded. Bad connections, obviously, can make the engine shut off, but also make the sensors act weird, which maybe caused the rpm to go to 3000.
I can't help too much more than that, but at least it's somewhere to start.

 

well today i got in the dakota and its in the 20s i opened the door figureing the battery was dead got in turned the key on and had about 2 second pause before the lights come on and the turned the key and it started right up and drove it around a little without missing a beat any ideas?
