Default 2.5 vs 5.2

Well let me start with that my friend has a 94 dak 2wd single cab w/ 5.2 and 5spd and I have a 00 dak 2wd cc w/ 2.5 a 5spd. He has some simple mods like a ram air intake, headers, cat back exhaust w/ flowmaster mufflers, and an LSD. I have a homebrew intake w/ heat shield and heat wrapped, 4.0 TB, TB spacer, port and polished cylinder head, cylinders bored .030 over, and a very stiff built up suspension.

Here's the story, my friend challenged me to a downhill race(we live not to far from some nearly empty hills with very steep roads and crazy hairpins). He figured that he would own me due to him having a V8 and me with my little I4. Well he pulled away off the line as expected, but about 3/4 of the way down he took a corner a bit wide. So, I downshifted to 2nd with the motor roaring at 4900rpm and took the inside, tires screeching and barely holding traction. Well, let me put it this way, my friend is still in denial that I actually beat him. All hail the mighty 2.5! Lol

I totally agree. I mean he knows I race my 85 supercharged corolla gts. I guess he just thought that my dak wasn't tough enough lol. I told him he needs to learn how to heel toe downshift.
