I just ripped the whole thing off with no issues so far.

Why are you cutting a hole in the spot next to the radiator? Are you looking to put your intake piping there?

one intake I had previously was the spectre 9931 on my 2001 ram with a 5.2l. It was more of a ram air as it wasnt very long but it had a huge heat shield that covered the bottom and the sider and extended to the front of the truck and it had a huge filter. I could hear it sucking as soon as i touched the gas. It really seemed to improve acceleration. They dont seem to have one for the dakota but like my k&n its made for the 5.2 not my 3.9 so i dunno how hard it would be to get a ram intake to fit a dakota.

Just bought this one. Looks nice and comes with a k&n. The filter alone is about 45 bucks normally. This is for my 3.9 and will let you guys know how it fits.

Ive driven around in rain storm without it, and through mud with no issues so far

Ok it was very easy to install, materials are very nice. Aluminum bends were nice and silicone sleeves were quality. I not too fond of install bracket location, but have had no problem.

Overall the exhaust is a little more aggressive, more power in acceleration or higher rpms. Not a huge increase, but will add more exhaust mods soon.
