Default Thinking about doing some lifting

First of all, I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota 2WD 4.7L V8. Tires as of now are 215/75R15.

I've been thinking about lifting it for awhile now but haven't really been set on doing it until now. The problem is, I've never lifted a truck before.

I've been doing quite a bit of research and I'm confident I can do it, I would just like some suggestions from some experts or people who have done it before.

I guess what I'm asking is if you guys could give me some suggestions, tips, tricks, and possibly the best parts to buy at a reasonable price. Would it be better to do a suspension lift or a body lift? How is it going to affect how my truck runs/steers?

Like I said, I'm no expert on this and I'm just looking for a little guidance so I would much appreciate any information you can provide for me!

Thanks!

EDIT: I guess what I want to do is put 2inches worth of coil spacers in the front to level the truck out. Then possibly throw a 3in body lift in there. I'm not necessarily doing the lift for performance, just for looks.

If I did that would I be able to fit a 33in tire in there?

no they would rub imo, if you are just gonna throw a coil spacer on. now 3 inch body lift it would fit but 12.5s would rub. you would need spacers.

With my 3" body lift my 33's on rubbed the frame a little bit in the front at full lock. By a little bit I mean the very edge of the outside lug just nipped it and this stopped after I got some wear on the tires. I'm guessing a less aggressive tire may not rub at all unless in an off roading adventure
