ABS RWAL issue
Good evening y'all,
Yesterday, i ended up with an issue on the dash.
The ABS light came on as well as the Brake light.
I started to invertigate the issue by checking the brake fluid level, the fuses ( ABS ) and every thing was Okay.
I bleeded all the brake lines just in case with no changes.
I disconnected the proportionning monitor unit but the light didn't go away.
I tried to find out WHERE is the ABS (CAB) module on a 1997 and a half Dakota (Oct 1997) and after a whole hour or two, i found it near the brake pedal ( inside ) under the dash.
Even in the Chrysler shop manual they mention that the module ( CAB ) is located just next to the ABS RAWL valve ***'y BUT it aint so.
I disconnected it, and the ABS light went away ( obviously key at OFF ) and replugged it, i heard a few clics under the hood ( ABS RWAL coils ) activated and the light went away.
Sound weird enough but it's clear now.
HAs anyone had this issue and if so what was the cure in case it comes back.
PS: the situation started when it was very cold in Canada (-23C ) when leaving the parking area (work) so not much running before it happened.
Thanks in advance.
