Default Question from my wife lol. Dodge Neon

My wife has a 2004 neon with 28000 miles and has every oil change done on time. Now when it heats up you hear a light tapping from the valve cover, any clue what this is and how severe? Was told to just use lucas oil but never seen the stuff. Thanks ahead of time.

could be lifters though unlikely with that year and mileage. My jeep used to tap really bad so i had it checked once and the mechanincs said that the cam in the jeep "walks" which makes the tap. dont know if that helps but it could be something normal like that. good luck

dont use lucas unless you have to, if theres a tapping it might not need it, have a mechanic put a stethascope on it first, my guess is its in the valvetrain up top, if it were a lifter it would be loud enough to here over another car, if its rocker arms there moving to far and are tapping on your valves
