Default Throttle Body swap questions

I know that these questions have probably been asked before, but I want some clear cut answers at my discretion. I have a 2002 3.9 V6 Dakota. If I am wanting to change the throttle body to a 5.9, what all will I need. I keep hearing about the cable, but for what reason? Length? Thickness? Cable end? The end of my v6 cable has the disk like connector. Do I take the sensors off of my v6 and put them on the V8 throttle body? Or is this something I should just completely avoid? I appreciate whoever will take the time to bear with me and answer these questions. I apologize for any inconvenience it causes others to see yet another post about this.
