Upstream & downstream oxygen sensors.
Hey gang,
Looking to replace both of my O2 sensors after blowing a CEL on my inspection. The check engine light was actually missing and it was sold to me that way. Anyone have a part number for a replacement CEL bulb?
My main question: Is there a difference between the Upstream & downstream O2 sensors (part numbers, lead length or anything else)?
I feel like an idiot having to ask these questions but I cannot find any specific Info about either of these issues.

Which motor do you have? Yes, there is a difference between upstream and downstream. The upstream senses the amount of nox coming out of your engine and adjusts your fuel/air ratio to correct and your downstream just makes sure the cat is doing its job. As for the CEL, I believe those are LED, but don't quote me on that.

I'm having trouble tracking down an upstream and downstream, specifically. The online merchants that I've been checking out don't differentiate, they just say "oxygen sensor".

Finally replaced my O2 sensors tonight.
The one I thought would be more difficult (upstream) though, tough to remove, was replaced with relative ease.
The downstream was not as easy... it was just as much of a nightmare to remove but upon removal I found that the hole in the actual pipe beneath the boss was too small to seat, not only the existing O2 sensor but especially the new O2. After some head scratching and bloodied knuckles we decided to chase the hole. Also a total nightmare but when all was said and done and after a 20.1 mile drive - that CEL is remains newly dormant! My MPG decided to be fair/ a team player also....which was nice.
Statistic update:
Scott: 7 TKO wins/ numerous defeats/ undetermined draws
Dakota: Countless wins/ 7 TKO losses/ unknown Rockey-like comebacks.
Much success!
