I think it all has to do with luck. My dad had a F150 and had nothing but problems and now his Jeep has had zero problems since we got it.

All of our work trucks are Ford's, 3 are over 300k on original motors and trans' 1 is at 240k all original and my father's 08 has 150k on it now with nothing replaced out side of spark plugs brakes and tires... We also have 2 Dodge Rams both have 200k on them but they have a had a ton of problems. A lot of electrical and suspension related problems. Motors are good but a lot of electrical and suspension problems. My father-in-law to be had an 06 F-150 and he never really liked it, but he put 250k miles on it with the stock shocks still on it and the only problem he had were with the plugs which are a known problem with newer F-150s. He knows it was a good truck just not what he prefers I guess, he's always been a Toyota guy... yuck.

My first truck was a 1996 F-150 and there were zero problems with that truck. There were only about 115k miles on it when I sold it but still I have no problems with it until then. If it were 4wd I would still own the truck.

Don't get me wrong, I really like Dodge, hence why I own one, but their quality was suffering until recently. The new Rams are supposed to be pretty good and I would love a new 1500 Ram. They're really nice trucks. So are the newer Chevy's and Ford's. If I were in the position to buy a new half ton it would be between the Ram and F-150 but it would be tough. Dodge just had quality problems in the 90s and 2000s. Now they're certainly a lot better and they have always been great looking trucks.

The motor and trans have been solid on my truck but the every piece of the suspension has been replaced except tie rods. Ball joints, control arm bushings, shocks, sway bar links, sway bar bushings have all been replaced. Power Steering pump, CTM, seized brake calibers have all been replaced. I think there's more I can't think of right now. The PS pump leaking now too even though it replaced 2 years ago, not sure why though. I can't seem to tell where it's leaking from yet. I'll have to dig in and find the source of the leak once I'm home from school for the summer.

It does seem like everyone is getting rid of their trucks on here. Also seems to be a new group of guys as well that will carry on the torch, so to speak haha. I'm still around checking things out but this is the new look for my Dak now-a-days since it cost me $70 to fill it up this weekend when the TSX had the starter go out already (at least it was under warranty still)

Wow I missed that thread. I like that car a lot. I've always like TSX's. Must be a fun little car to drive being a 6 speed.
