so im trying to swap my transfer case in my 02 4x4 4.7L quad cab i have both drive shafts off and the cross support and most of the bolts that hold it to the transmission i dont know if i need to drop part of the exhaust system to get the top bolts????


and how many bolts are on the top side of the case????

 

I will move this to the 2nd Generation Dakota Sub-form.

 

when i had to changen the transfer case in the 99 dakota. i just took the tranny mount out and let the tranny rest on the cross member. it gave me enough space to see and get a socket with an exstention on the bolts.

 

when I pulled my t-case I just took out the plastic tray out of the floor in mine and got to the bolts from inside the cab
