Just throwing this out there.. I put a different stock air hat from a junk truck i found.. and my trucks been a bit sluggish to get up to 3K...

I threw my old one back on.. which inside the little plastic "thing" i had broken.. well seems with that removed the truck responds a little better..

Just throwing it out there..

 

You could just use PVC to fab up your own intake and get rid of that awful hat altogether.
