Unhappy beginning to lose faith in dodge..please help

When driving down the road the truck (2004 dodge dakota) will not shift into last gear. If you turn it off it will run fine until it gets warmed up. Once we pulled into the driveway and the truck went into gear just wouldnt move. My husband changed a sensor and thenth e selindor(sp?) pack under the transmission and it ran fine for a week exactly. Then as we were driving home (about a 15 mim drive) the truck jerked and shifted into a lower gear, as we were pulling into the driveway the truck wouldnt move until my husband put the gas pedal all the way to the floor. Then it barely even moved.
We dont know what else to do. We just put $400 into it this past weekend only for it to not fix it. Anyone know what else it could be?

It could be a bad speed sensor bad wires bad coolant temp sensor. Do you have any check engine light codes?

I will move this to the 2nd generation Dakota sub-forum.
